MRS. MAE MCCARTNEY OF LORIMOR DIES

LORIMOR-Mrs. Mae McCartney, a resident of Lorimor for many years, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines Friday, Nov. 7 after an illness of several weeks. She was 56 years of age.

Mrs. McCartney was the former Mae McCahan. She was born near Shannon City, Dec. 9, 1895.

Her husband, Jay McCartney, preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Boyd McCartney who is stationed with the armed forces at El Paso, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Marion Donahue of Marshalltown; two granddaughters; and a brother, Archie McCartney of Shannon City.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Lorimor Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Mr. Rowe. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
