Elsie Beem

Was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Newkirk and was born in Indiana November 7, 1837. Died at her home in Winterset March 10, 1907, at the age of 69 years.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. S. Young and burial made in the Winterset cemetery. Rev. E. E. Bennett conducting the services.

Elsie Newkirk Beem

Elsie Newkirk was born in Jackson county, November 7, 1837, and died March 10, 1907, aged 69 years, 4 months and 7 days.

She was united in marriage to R. N. Beem, May 13, 1855. She came to Madison county in 1863. There was born to this union eleven children, three of whom are dead.

She united with the Baptist church and when about sixteen years of age, and later she united with the United Brethren church.

The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. S. Young, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
