Death of John Link

John Link, of Keokuk, a former resident of Winterset, and a son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Link, of Ames, died Saturday, February 8, after an illness of three months. Mr. Link, who was about 30 years of age, became ill three months ago with what was thought to be spinal meningitis. Later he developed scarlet fever. He recovered enough to be taken by his parents to their home in Ames. He became worse last week, and was taken to a hospital in Des Moines, where his death took place, Saturday.

Mr. Link was raised in Winterset and attended the local high school. He also attended the Ames school and was graduated from the civil engineering course at the Iowa State college. He was employed for a while in Detroit, but had recently been living in Keokuk. He is survived by his wife and a thirteen month old son, Thomas. He also leaves his parents, a sister, Mrs. Sarah Millikin, and a brother, Lon, who is employed in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, February ll, at Dunn’s funeral home in Des Moines, and burial was made in the Masonic cemetery, there.
