Winterset Native Dies in Missouri

William E. Evans, a native of Winterset, died Tuesday, Dec. 2 at a nursing home in Nevada, Mo., at the age of 89 years.

Mr.Evans was born Dec. 25, 1852 in Winterset, a son of Henry and Mary Elizabeth Evans. He moved to Missouri as a young man, but after a few years there he left the state to travel extensively. In 1934, he returned to Missouri to live at Excelsior Springs. He moved from there to Nevada about 10 years ago.

Nearest surviving relative is a sister, Mrs. Winnie Peacock of California. He also leaves several nieces and nephews in Madison county.

Funeral services were held Dec. 5 at Nevada, and burial was made in the cemetery there.
