DELL DAVIS SERVICES HELD LAST SUNDAY

Funeral services for Dell Davis of Monroe township were held from the Lorimor Methodist church Sunday, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. C. M. Rowe. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.

Mr. Davis' death occurred Wednesday, Sept. 3, at his home following a heart attack. He was 72 years of age.

He was born in Union county, Nov. 16, 1879 a son of W. J. and Maggie Davis. On Feb. 15, 1903, he was married to Millie Emory. They were the parents of five children, one of whom died in infancy.

Mr. Davis had been a resident of Madison county since 1923.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Lyle Davis of Winterset and Marion, Dale and Wayne Davis all of Lorimor. He also leaves three brothers, Elmer Davis of Hopeville, Buel Davis of Creston and Edwin Davis of Omaha.

LAST RITES HELD FOR DELL DAVIS

Funeral services were held in the Lorimor Methodist church on Sunday, Sept. 7 for Dell Davis, well-known Monroe township farmer.

Mrs. Davis died Sept. 3 at the age of 72 years and nine months. The son of W. J. and Maggie Davis, he was born in Jones township, Union county, Iowa on Nov. 16, 1879. He was united in marriage to Millie Emery of Union county on Feb. 15, 1903. To this union five children were born-Lyle of Winterset, Marion, Dale and Wayne J., all of Lorimor and Elmer, who died at the age of five months.

Surviving are his wife and four sons, three brothers, Elmer of Hopeville, Buel of Creston and Edwin of Omaha, and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William R. and Clem, and a brother and sister who died in infancy.

Mr. Davis spent the first years of his married life in Union county, moving to Madison county in 1923, where he spent the remainder of his life.

Officiating at the funeral service was the Rev. C. M. Rowe. Burial was in the Lorimor cemetery.
