Lloyd Edwin Lienemann, 84, died of natural causes on July 18, 2007, at the Community Care Center in Stuart, his home for nearly 14 years after being diagnosed with Parkinsons.
Lloyd was born on January 6, 1923, on the family farm south of De Soto to Clarence Edward and Renetta Hamann Lienemann. They preceded him in death as did his brother, Donald.
Lloyd graduated from De Soto High School in 1940. At school he excelled in woodworking, building a desk and shelves for his mother and a lectern for Trinity Lutheran Church. He was very fond of cars and sold them for a living after losing his left arm to a corn picker in 1948.
Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Dee (Joel) Hibbs of Chariton; grandsons, Jeff, Braden, and Adam Hibbs; sister, Berneal Popiano of Des Moines; brother, LaVern of Fenton, MI; sister-in-law, Joanne Lienemann of Adel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, at Faith Lutheran Church in Adel, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Lloyd was a long time member of Faith, but his cremated remains will be interred at a later date near his parents, brother, and paternal grandparents at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Van Meter.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa, Community Care Center in Stuart, or Faith Lutheran Church in Adel. McCalley Funeral Home in Adel has been entrusted with the arrangements
