Veteran of First World War Buried With Military Honors
Clifford C. Conn, a well known Madison county man, died at Memorial hospital in Winterset, Friday, Dec. 26, after a brief illness. He was 61 years of age.
Mr. Conn was born in Piper City, Ill., on March 10, 1891, a son of Charles and Hattie Conn.
He was a veteran of the first World War, having served 17 months, 14 of which were spent in France. He was a member of the Christian church of DeSoto and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter No. 20 of Des Moines.
Mr. Conn is survived by his wife, the former Alice Brewer of DeSoto. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Edith Davis of Des Moines; two granddaughters; a brother, Henry Conn of Minburn; and two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Jones of Lorimor and Mrs. Edna Dorrell of Des Moines.
Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery with military services by Green-Rogers post of the American Legion held at the graveside.
