JAMES L. COMBS DIES AT 91 YEARS

Native of Kansas Had Spent Most of Life in This County

James L. Combs, one of Madison county's oldest residents, died Saturday, May 31 at the Horton Nursing home in Winterset. He was 91 years of age and had lived in Winterset for many years.

Mr. Combs was born in Kansas on June 27, 1860, a son of John and Luiza Oldham Combs. He came to Madison county early in life and had lived here since that time.

He was married in Winterset on Jan. 31, 1893 to Elvira Tullis, who survives him.

Funeral services were held on June 2 from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. H. D. Rosenberger, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery
