December 1991OBITUARY OF CHARLES ALFRED LEE
Charles Alfred Lee, son of Alfred Charles and Clara Scott Lee was born July 29, 1920 at Dexter, Iowa and passed away at his home in Dexter December 20, 1991.
Charles attended school in Gering, Nebraska, Stuart and Belmont, Iowa and graduated from Dexter Public School in 1939. Following graduation he worked on the farm until he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served in the South Pacific during World War II. The men he served with during those years have been life time friends.
On June 12, 1947 he was united in marriage with Betty Marie Ohrt. No children were born to this union but they were Aunt and Uncle to many children who came often to see them. Charles was engaged in farming and structural steel work in Des Moines, Atlantic and retired from Ra Mark industries in 1982.
Charles was a member of the Dexter United Methodist
Church, Dexter American Legion, 40 & 8 and the 2nd Marine Division.He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Pearl Albery and brother Thomas. He leaves to mourn his wife, Betty; sister, Vera and husband Justin Blomquist, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 5 great great nephews, 1 great niece and many relatives and friends.
