On June 23, 1897, he was married to Miss Daisie Connoran of Winterset who survives him. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary on June 23, 1947.
Mr. Smith was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Winterset for over 60 years. His sons, Alden Smith of Scarsdale, N. Y. and Clifton Smith of Winterset, recently installed organ chimes and an electronic sound system in this church as a memorial to their parents.
In addition to his wife and the two sons, he leaves two grandchildren, Mrs. Betty Smith Tolman of Norfolk, Va., and Clifton of Scarsdale, N. Y.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian church of Winterset with the pastor, the Rev. George DeF Fisher, officiating. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
