FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT DIAGONAL

Mrs. Josie Gebhardt, a native of Madison county, died April 23, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maxine Rychnovsky near Diagonal. She was 73 years of age.

Mrs. Gebhardt was the former Josie Paxton, daughter of George and Margaret Paxton. She was born October 1, 1879, south of DeSoto. She was reared in the DeSoto community and was married there Oct. 7, 1907, to John H. Gebhardt. He preceded her in death.

She moved to Ringgold county in 1911, living there until 1944 when she moved to Conway. Since becoming seriously ill several months ago, she had been making her home with Mrs. Rychnovsky.

She is survived by five children, Mrs. Margaret Graham of Diagonal, Paul Gebhardt of Conway, Mrs. Rychnovsky of Diagonal and Max Gebhardt and Mrs. Dorothy Harris, both of Conway.

She also leaves nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Ross Paxton of Van Meter; and a sister, Inez Paxton of California.

Funeral services were held April 26 from the Diagonal Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Fairview cemetery in Madison county.
