Former Mrs. Al Larrimer of Winterset Had Been Ill Past Two Years
Mrs. John Garn, a resident of Winterset most of her life, died at the Madison County Memorial hospital early Wednesday, Oct. 21. Mrs. Garn had been in failing health the past two years and her condition became critical this Tuesday. She was taken to the Memorial hospital Tuesday afternoon and her death occurred shortly after midnight.
Mrs. Garn was 71 years of age. She was born in Winterset, the former Kate Brobst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brobst. She was married in Des Moines to Al Larrimer, and they returned to the community early in this century to engage in the bakery business.
Mr. and Mrs. Larrimer operated a bakery here for about 30 years, until his death about 20 years ago. A few years later, Mrs. Larrimer was married to Joe Garn. They made their home in Des Moines until two years ago when they returned to Winterset.
Mrs. Garn is survived by her husband; and one sister, Mrs. Art Willetts of Winterset.
Funeral services will be held this Friday from the Richards Funeral home. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
