CATHERINE ANNE JOHN
Catherine Anne John, two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Talley E. John of Winterset, died Saturday evening, December 31, 1938, following a brief illness of acute appendicitis, for which she was operated on. She was born Jan. 3, 1937, being 1 year, 11 months and 28 days old at the time of her death. Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine o'clock in St. Joseph's Catholic church, conducted by the Rev. J. J. Judge of St. Marys. The four older brothers of the infant, William, John, Michael and Patrick John, were the altar boys serving the mass. Pallbearers were Stephen Sawyer, Billy Bass, Jimmy Lewis and John Driscoll. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
She is survived by her parents, Talley E. and Margaret John, six brothers, Wm., John, Michael, Patrick, Dennis and Jerome, three sisters, Margaret, Betty Lou and Rose Marie.

DEATH OF JOHNS CHILD --
Catherine Johns, 2 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Johns of Winterset, died here last Saturday at the Winterset hospital. The child had been in failing health for some time. She is survived by her parents and eight brothers and sisters. The child was born in Winterset and lived all her brief life here. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset in charge of the Rev. J. J. Judge of St. Marys. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
