Darlene Graham, 79, died on July 6, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10 at St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles. Visitation will be on Monday, July 9, from 5 to 7 at Brooks Funeral Care in Clive.

Darlene Evelyn Graham, 79, died July 6, 2007, at Manor Care in West Des Moines.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 10, at St. Charles Cemetery.

Darlene Graham was born March 11, 1928, to Bill and Evelyn Tobin of Guthrie County. After graduation from Indianola High School, she found employment in Des Moines and moved there. Her marriage to Clifford Dean Graham took place Dec. 21, 1949. She and Clifford resided in Des Moines where they raised their family. Darlene was very involved with volunteer work — spending many years with Veterans’ Hospital, Am Vets Post No. 2 V.F.W., American Legion, and the Marine Corps Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Tommy Slaton; and a brother, Jack Tobin.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Graham of Statesville, N.C., and Sandra Slaton of West Des Moines; one son, Michael Graham; two sisters, Pat Nehring of St. Charles and Dixie Palmer of Weatherford, Okla.; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
