MRS. GEORGE KIRBY BURIED AT WINTERSET

Former Winterset Resident Died at Los Angeles Last Friday

Mrs. George Kirby, whose early life was spent in Madison county died last Friday, Feb. 11 at Los Angeles, Calif., after a lingering illness. She was 52 years of age.

Mrs. Kirby was born Nov. 20, 1902 in Jefferson township of this county and spent her early life near and in Winterset. She was the former Amanda Brooker.

She was married to George Kirby of Winterset on Sept. 27, 1926. They lived here until moving to California 19 years ago.

Mrs. Kirby is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Darlene Christensen of Los Angeles; her mother, Mrs. Blanche Brooker of Winterset; and 10 brothers and sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Reimann of Booneville, Judson Brooker of Peru, Mrs. Rose Van Buren of Van Meter, Norwood Brooker of St. Charles, Wilbur Brooker and Herbert Brooker of Winterset, Mrs. Darlene Fundinger of DeSoto, Bruce Brooker of California, Mrs. Madeline Porter of Winterset and Ralph Brooker of Des Moines.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
