FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT MASON CITY

Mrs. Ethel Cole Kersey, a former Madison county resident, died at the Good Samaritan home in Mason City Tuesday morning after a long illness. Mrs. Kersey had been bedfast since suffering injuries in a fall in September.

Mrs. Kersey, eldest daughter of John S. and Flora Cole, was born in Winterset, December 7, 1875. She was married to C. L. Kersey January 19, 1920 at Mason City where they made their home for several years before moving to Fairfield, Iowa. After Mr. Kersey's death in 1941, Mrs. Kersey has made her home with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. A. Wiliamson in Kanawha, Iowa.

She was a member of the Methodist church, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and while living in Mason City was active in Y. W. C. A. and many civic organizations.

Mrs. Kersey is survived by one brother, E. K. Cole of Centralia, two sisters, Elizabeth McLellon of Centrallia, Missouri and Lenore Williamson of Kanwha and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday afternoon at the Hanson Funeral home at 1:30 and at two o'clock from the Methodist church with Rev. D. D. Samuel conducting the services. Interment will be at Kanawha.
