FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN ACCIDENT

Callus Wheeler, Formerly of Near Macksburg, Killed On Highway

Callus Wheeler, former resident of the Lorimor and Macksburg vicinity, was killed Wednesday, April 10, in an automobile accident near Iowa Falls. The fatality occurred about two miles from the home of his brother, Weaver Wheeler.

Mr. Wheeler was 56 years of age. He was born in Madison County Nov. 21, 1900, a son of Cyrus and Mattie Wheeler. He lived near Macksburg and Lorimor until 1933, when he moved with his family south of Des Moines.

He was married Feb. 2, 1920, in Creston to Faye Jordan. They were parents of two children, both of whom survive. They are Harold and Hazil, both of Des Moines. His second marriage was to Margie Riley of Des Moines, who survives him.

Mr. Wheeler also leaves a sister, Mrs. Mabel Brooks of Murray; four brothers, Weaver Wheeler of Iowa Falls, Elga and Elva Wheeler of Macksburg and Lee Wheeler of Lorimor.

Funeral services were held April 13 from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines. Burial was made in the Glendale cemetery in West Des Moines.
