Resident of Peru for Past 20 Years Died at Home There Dec. 3
Mrs. Daisy L. Wetzel, a resident of Peru the last 20 years, died at her home there Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the age of 62 years. She had been in failing health the last year.
Mrs. Wetzel was born at Buffalo Center on Aug. 1, 1895 a daughter of Delbert and Mary Perkins. Her life was spent in northern Iowa, until moving to Peru 20 years ago.
She was married to John E. Wetzel on March 17, 1926. Her husband survives her.
She also leaves seven children; Everett and Carol Schreiber of Bloomington, Ill., Mrs. Mildred Fulkerson of Des Moines, Mrs. Mabel Smith of Truro, Cecil Wetzel of St. Charles, Chancey Wetzel of Prole and Mrs. Wanda Janes of Des Moines.
She also leaves eight brothers and sisters, Harold Perkins, Mrs. Emma Butts, Rollin Perkins, Mrs. Helen Hoover and Mrs. Blanche Sluik, all of Britt, Melvin Perkins of Bloomington, Ill., and Raymond and Robert Perkins of Corwith; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Peru Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Forrest Davis. Burial was made in the Union cemetery near Murray.
