Funeral Services Are Set for Thursday at Methodist Church

Samuel G. Reed, a resident of Madison county for most of his life, died at his home in Winterset Tuesday, June 14, following a heart attack. He was 77 years of age. He was known here as "Gus" Reed.

Mr. Reed was the youngest child of James and Eliza Wilkins Reed, and was born June 30, 1877, near DeSoto. His early life was spent in the Fairview community. He was married Sept. 28, 1921, to Minnie F. Evison. Most of their married life was spent farming in the Worthington community. Because of failing health, he retired from farming in 1950.

He is survived by his wife; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Fay Ford of Cambridge, a long-time friend, assisted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz of Winterset, at the Winterset Methodist church this Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will be made in Fairview cemetery.
