Ben Tilton, a native of Madison county who spent most of his life in the west, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at his home in Wolf Point, Mont. He was 78 years of age. His death occurred suddenly.
Mr. Tilton was born in this county in 1876, a son of Thomas and Phoebe Tilton. When he was a young man he left here for Montana.
He leaves three brothers and three sisters in Iowa. they are Mrs. Lenore Cessna and Will, Homer and Ted Tilton, all of Winterset, Mrs. Lillie Murphy of Davenport, and Mrs. Myrtle Perkins of Indianola.
He is survived also by four daughters and a son.
Funeral services and burial were held Monday at Wolf Point.
