Esther Swanson, Winterset

Esther Ione Swanson, 68, died Sept. 24, 2005 at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, Sept. 28) at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial was at Roland Cemetery.

Esther Swanson was born Feb. 10, 1937 of rural Roland and was a graduate of Roland High School. Esther briefly taught and worked at Social Security offices in California and Washington, D. C. She was baptized and confirmed in the Salem Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, JoAnn M. Jacobson; and a brother, Herb Swanson.

She is survived by a brother, Jerry Swanson of San Pedro, Calif.

Arrangements were handled by Soderstrum Funeral Holmes of Story City.
