JAMES L. SODERLAND FORMER RESIDENT DIES

James Lewis Soderland, former Winterset resident who has made his home in Des Moines, died there Sunday from heart disease, following an illness of several years. He was 63 years of age and served as a carpenter in Winterset.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Martha F. Soderland, one brother, Clyde Soderland, one brother, Clyde Soderland, and four sisters, Mrs. W. L. Turner, Mrs. D. C. Parrott and Lenore Soderland, all of Des Moines and Mrs. Frank J. Rogers, Billings, Montana.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn's funeral home in Des Moines and burial was in the Glendale cemetery.-

James Soderland Dies At Age 63

James Louis Soderland, 63 years of age, who formerly lived in Winterset, died Sunday in Des Moines at the home of his sister, Mrs. William L. Turner, with whom he had made his home since the death of his wife almost seven months ago. Death was due to a heart ailment from which he suffered for twelve years.

Mr. Soderland will be remembered by many, having spent his boyhood and early manhood in Winterset. He was united in marriage to Lula Isabell McNeeley in Winterset thirty-eight years ago. Following his marriage he moved to Des Moines where he became well known being engaged in construction work there for twenty-eight years.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Martha F. Soderland; four sisters, Mrs. William L. Turner, Mrs. DeForrest C. Parrot, Lenore Soderland all of Des Moines and Mrs. Frank J. Rogers of Billings, Montana, many relatives of his wife’s family and friends.
