Miss Ruthven Simpson Dies

Miss Ruthven Simpson, died Tuesday morning July 17th, in Des Moines at the home of her aunt, Mrs. A. F. Stahlgren. Since going to Des Moines a year ago she had been (in) nursing.

While here she made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Simpson. She was nineteen years old. Relatives here recieved word that her death was due to ptomaine poisoning. She was ill for only a short time. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Robert Stark of Winterset.

Funeral services will be conducted today at two o'clock from Hamilton & Powers funeral Rev. F. Clare McCallon will conduct the services and burial will be in the Glendale cemetery.

Those from here expecting to attend the funeral are Mr. and Mrs. Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mahan, Mrs. Oren Adams, Mrs. Mildred Knott and Walter Vance.

Ruthven Sue Doris Simpson

Ruthven Sue Doris Simpson, daughter of Leslie M. and Fannie Fahnestock Simpson, was born in Des Moines, on April 8, 1909 and died at the home of her aunt, Mrs. A. F. Stolgren, in Des Moines on July 17, 1928 at the age of 19 years, 3 months and 9 days.

Funeral services were held by the Rev. F. Clare McCallon, in Des Moines, Thursday, July 19. Burial was made in the Glendale cemetery.

Her babyhood was spent in Des Moines, but after her mother's death in 1911, she resided with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Simpson of Winterset. Her schooling in the grades was obtained mostly from the country school, but her high school days were spent in Winterset, where she made many friends among the young people as well as her elders.

She was a believer in our Lord and was united with Church of Christ of Winterset, in December 1924. She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Robert Stark of Winterset; her father, Leslie Simpson of Seattle, Washington; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Simpson, numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives, besides a great number of friends.
