ETHA B. KOEHLER DIES AT 83 YEARS

Prominent Madison County Farm Woman Died Last Thursday

Mrs. Etha B. Koehler, a prominent farm woman of Madison county, died at her home in Jefferson township Thursday, June 9, after an extended illness. She was 83 years of age.

Mrs. Koehler was a leader in 4-H club activities and Farm Bureau work in this county over a long period of years, and was one of the winners of the degree of Iowa Master Farm Homemaker.

She was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was born here Feb. 11, 1872, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Alexander. She was married in 1893 to Otto Koehler, but his death occurred many years ago.

Surviving are her two children, Fred Koehler and Mrs. Cecile Currin of Grafton, Wisc.; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Austin Wood, and Mrs. Ada Schoen of Oregon.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Fisher Funeral home at Van Meter, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Beuereman, of Van Meter. Burial was made in the North River cemetery.
