Mrs. Elva Hadley Rosburg of Des Moines, passed away of a heart attack, September 4, 1955, while visiting in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Hasley of Searsboro, Iowa.
Born August 26, 1889 near Earlham, she was the daughter of Perry and Evaline Hadley. She was graduated from Earlham high school, attended William Penn College and taught in the rural schools of Dallas county.
She was a member of First Friends Meeting, Des Moines, and for several years had been chairman of the Christian Service department of First Friends Missionary Society which does relief work for the American Friends Service Committee. She was also a member of the Meeting of Ministry and Counsel.
In 1942 and 1943 she was president of East High P.T.A. Des Moines, and recently was elected president of the past-presidents of East High P.T.A. Her cheerful disposition and her love of life won her many friends.
Her husband, A. H. Rosburg preceded her in death on October 31, 1953. Surviving are one son, Gene Rosburg of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Hasley, Mrs. Dean Shannon of Rapid City, South Dakota; Mrs. Dean Creger of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. D. M. Applegate of Earlham and Mrs. Ernest Zelliot of Des Moines Funeral services were in charge of Orlando Dick. Interment in Glendale cemetery in Des Moines.
