Virginia B. Pickron, Winterset

Virginia Bubb Pickron, 87, of Winterset and formerly of Creston, died of heart failure Jan. 29, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, at Coen-Beaty Pearson Funeral Chapel in Creston with Dr. Byron Lamun officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at Graceland cemetery.

Virginia Pickron was born July 12, 1914 in Creston to Robert Earl and Eleanore Christina (Joneson) Oshel. She was a 1932 graduate of Creston High School. She married Leonard Bubb on Oct. 6, 1932 in Maryville, Mo. Following his death, she later married Earl Pickron on Dec. 19, 1979 in Maryville, Mo. Virginia had worked at Gits Manufacturing Company and Greater Community Hospital, both in Creston. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Creston and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband (Leonard Bubb) two sons, three sisters, three brothers, a granddaughter, and a great-grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Earl, of Winterset; three sons,Richard Bubb (wife LaRue) of Punxsutawney, Pa., Jerry Bubb (wife Maria) of Houston, Texas, and Danny Bubb (friend Jane McDonald) of Des Moines; two daughters, Sharon Kessler (friend Jim Wilson) of Union and Linda Spare (husband Bob) of Afton; a brother, Clifford Oshel (wife Virginia) of Clearfield, Utah; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
