Death of James D. Orr

James D. Orr for many years a resident of Winterset, died last Friday at the home of his son, Ora D. Orr in Des Moines, after a brief illness.

Mr. Orr was the son of James D. and Martha Thompson Orr and was born in Crawford county, Ohio on February 13, 1851. His early life was spent in that state and he came to Iowa with his parents in 1880. On November 4, 1887, he was married to Miss Amanda Iiams. She died in 1925.

They were the parents of six children, five of whom survive; three daughters, Mrs. Grace brennan and Mrs. Edith Murphy of San Pablo, California an Mrs. Jessie Wassilus of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and two sons, Ora Orr and Edmund R. Orr both of Des Moines. One son, Frank Orr, was killed in action during the World War.

Funeral services were held at Hamilton Chapel in Des Moines on Monday in charge of the Rev. C. S. Wadding. Burial was made in the Glendale cemetery.
