John Nunn, a former resident of Patterson, died at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Saturday, September 5th after an extended illness. He was 62 years of age, and had owned and operated a grocery store on East Walnut street in Des Moines for the past thirty three years.
Dr. Charles H. Medbury, pastor of the University Church of Christ in Des Moines, conducted his funeral services at the Harbach funeral home, Tuesday afternoon, September 8 at 2:30 o'clock, and burial was made in Des Moines. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Herschel Davis of Des Moines and Mrs. Grace Namanie of Chicago. A son preceded the father in death. A number of people from Macksburg and Patterson drove to Des Moines to attend the services.

Des Moines Man Lived in Iowa All His Life.
Funeral services for John Henry Nunn, 62, lifetime Iowa resident, who died Friday, will be held at the Harbach funeral home at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday. The Rev. Charles S. Medbury will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale cemetery.
Mr. Nunn, who resided at 4031 Amick ave., was born in Union county. He spent his early life there, later moving to Patterson, Ia., where he married in 1898. Following his marriage he moved to Carlisle and later to Des Moines where he spent the last 40 years.
Following 18 years in the grocery business here he took a position with the G. R. Kinney co., and was employed there 11 years. He retired three years ago.
Survivors are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Harry B. Namanny of Chicago and Mrs. Herschel B. Davis of Des Moines, two grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Charles M. Doane of Des Moines.
