Beverly Ann "Pat" Knoch, 71, died Aug. 19, 2003 at Atchison Hospital in Atchison, Kan.

Memorial services were held Friday, Aug. 22 at the First Christian Church in Atchison with the Rev. Lee Handon officiating. A private unurnment of the cremains will be at a later date.

Beverly Knoch was born May 9, 1932 in Madison county to John and Vivian (Reed) Swan. She attended schools in Iowa. In 1979 she became the executive vice-president of the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1983, she was elected state president of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce Executives and was the first woman president of the organization. On Dec. 16, 1983, she married M. Scott Knoch in Atchison, Kan. From October of 1990 until September of 2001 she worked for Atchison Pattern Works, a family business. Beverly was a member of the First Christian Church in Atchison (former trustee, elder, deaconess and church board member), Atchison Rotary Club, Kansas Calvary and Kansas Industrial Developers Association (charter member and director). She also was a past member of the Missouri Basin Advisory Board and past board member of the Kansas Association of Commerce and Industry.

She is survived by her husband, M. Scott Knoch of Atchison, Kan.; four sons, Reed Hammans of Ames, Greg Knoch of Atchison, Kan.; Mark Knoch of Pleasanton, Calif., and Justin Walker of Elk Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Robin Hammans of Clarinda and Amy Buckingham of Atchison, Kan.; two sisters, Helen Grandfield of Pomeroy and Lucllle Ewing of Palm Coast, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Homes of Atchison.
