Susanna Arvetta Kephart, 88 of Newton died of congestive heart failure March 20, 2002 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A private family memorial service was held.
Susanna Kephart was born May 24, 1913 in Madison County to William Anderson and Daisy May Miller-Daniel. She was a graduate of Terril High School. On Feb. 17, 1940, she married Forest Eldon Kephart in Adel. Susanna had been a resident of Newton since 1942. She had previously resided in Winterset and Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son and two grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Eldon Kephart (wife Janet) of Brooklyn and Kenneth Kephart (wife Linda) of Des Moines; three daughters, Sharon Van Sickle (husband Marvin) of Newton, Carolyn Vander Schel (husband Bob) of Rock Creek, rural Kellogg, and Marilyn Gragg (husband Bob of Mitchellville; 19 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
