BRUCE R. KENWORTHY

Bruce R. Kenworthy, 81, of 3401 Urbandale Avenue, Des Moines, died Sunday evening at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center from complications following surgery after a lengthy illness. Born in Earlham, he had lived in Des Moines since 1919.

He retired in 1965 from the position of vice president of Des Moines Steel company.

He served in World War l in France with 129th Engineers; served on the Small Business Administration for many years. Bruce was a member of Moingona Masonic Lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, American Legion and for 55 years was a member of the Men's Service Club (an organization of servicemen from WW I).

Bruce was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 17 at the Westover Funeral Home with burial in Glendale cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Hasel, son Robert of Rome, Italy; daughter, Mrs. Alice Mason of rural Adel, brother Beryl of rural Earlham, 3 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
