HARRY C. BRANDT DIED SATURDAY

Native of Pennsylvania; Had Lived 54 Years in This County

Harry C. Brandt, a resident of Madison county for 54 years, died Saturday, Feb. 25, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He had been a patient there since suffering a stroke Jan. 17.

Mr. Brandt was 87 years of age at his death. He was a native of Franklin county, Pennsylvania, where he was born March 10, 1873, a son of John and Duanna Dash Brandt. He was married in Illinois on March 6, 1901 to Mary V. Hulick.

They came to Madison county in 1907, and farmed for many years in Jackson township. His wife died in 1943, and he had been retired in recent years.

Surviving are a son, Raymond Brandt of Winterset; and a daughter, Mrs. Howard DeBok of near Winterset. One son, Walter, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
