MARSHALLTOWN MAN VICTIM OF LEUKEMIA

E. E. (Pat) Byrnes of Marshalltown died at Veterans' hospital in Iowa City Saturday, March 5 of leukemia. He was 61 years of age.

Mr. Byrnes was the husband of the former Ruth Seidler of Winterset, and was well known in this community. He was personnel manager for the Marshalltown Manufacturing company.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Cpl. E. E. Byrnes of the U.S. army; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Lammers of Davenport; six sisters; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday from St. Marys Catholic church in Marshalltown.
