MRS. FANNIE THORNTON DIES

Mrs. Fannie Thornton, 75 year old resident, died at her home last Friday, April 26, after an extended illness. She was the former Fannie Isola Thommedieu, daughter of Henry and Mary Thommedieu, and was born June 27, 1864, near Sycamore, Ill. When sixteen years of age, she came to Colo, with her parents to make her home. She was married to John Thornton, on September 27, 1892. They were the parents of three children, Mary Estella of the home, Eliza, who preceded the mother in death, and a son, Reuben John of Winterset.

For many years Mrs. Thornton had been ill, and for the last twelve years has been an invalid; and was cared for by her daughter.

She is survived by her husband; the daughter, Estella, a son R. J. Thornton, and two grandsons. A granddaughter preceded her in death last September.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thornton were held at Colo last Sunday, with burial being made in the Colo cemetery.
