MRS. AGNES HOGAN DIED HERE MONDAY

Death Occurs at Memorial Hospital After Long Illness

Mrs. Agnes C. Hogan, a well known resident of the Winterset community for most of her life, died Monday, July 22, at Madison county Memorial hospital here. She was 77 years of age, and had been in delicate health for several years.

Mrs. Hogan was the former Agnes O'Loughlin, daughter of Terrance and Mary Crystal O'Loughlin. She was born in Jackson township on April 25, 1880.

She was married June 20, 1906 to John J. Hogan. They made their home in Des Moines for four years until his death in 1910. She then returned to Winterset bringing her two infant sons and this community had been her home since then.

Her younger son, Mattiats was killed in an automobile accident near Sioux City in 1938.

Surviving are her son, Clarence Hogan of Winterset; two brothers, Thomas O'Loughlin of Winterset and Robert O'Loughlin of Denver, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Winifred Core of Knoxville and Delia O'Loughlin of California.

Rosary services were held this Tuesday evening from the Richards funeral home here. The requiem Mass was held this Wednesday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset with the pastor the Rev. John Higgins as the celebrant. Burial was made in St. Ambrose cemetery in Des Moines.
