Margaret Ann Wolverton, daughter of George and Minerva Wolverton, was born January 29, 1867 near Earlham, in Madison county, Iowa. She passed away September 15, 1940 at the age of 73 years, seven months and 17 days.

Her early girlhood was spent in and around Earlham where she received her education in the Earlham high school. She united with the Christian church early in life and was a faithful member at the time of her death.

She was married to Charles A. Stanley on January 13, 1885. The first two years of their married life was spent in Earlham after which they lived two years on a farm east of Earlham. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband Chrales A. Stanley, seven sons, Frank and Chester of Winterset; George of Stuart; Cletus of Cumming; Clifford of Dexter; Ralph and Wayne of Earlham; and three daughters Mrs. Caroline Clements of Earlham; Mrs. Leah Cook of Dexter; and Mrs. Helen Hougham of Fort Des Moines. Thirty-eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Four sons, Viret, Ira, Earl and Lloyd and two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Cook and baby Margaret, who died in infancy, preceded her in death. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Laura Fixsen and Mrs. Myrtle Ragon of Morgan, Minnesota.
