Edith Glazebrook, 76, Dies

Edith Mardena Glazebrook, daughter of Albert Herman and Grace Mildred Waltz Herman, was born April 30, 1927 in Madison County and died Dec. 18, 2003 at the Lucas County Hospital in Chariton. She was 76. She grew up in Madison county near Earlham.

She attended Madison county country school and graduated from Earlham High School. She married Jack Marvin Landers in the fall of 1944 and they became the parents of four children, Richard, Michael, James and Linda. Mr. Landers preceded her in death on July 3, 1960. She married Dallas Rolland Glazebrook on Oct. 14, 1961 and they became the parents of two children, Sheila and John. Mr. Glazebrook died on June 14, 1985.

Mrs. Glazebrook was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, a granddaughter, Rainy Sue; a brother, Bud, two sisters, Beatrice and Bernice and a son-in-law Jim Purscell.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Landers and his wife Ramona Landers of Lorimor; Michael Landers and his wife Linda Landers of Des Moines; James Landers and his wife Sheila Landers and John Glazebrook and his wife Kim Glazebrook, all of Osceola; daughters, Linda Carter of Guthrie Center and Sheila Purscell and Dylon Kimball of Murray; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; a sister, Jo Hicks of Arizona as well as other relatives and friends.

A memorial lunch was held Dec. 22 at the Murray Legion Hall in Murray.
