Patti Kay Davis, 49, of Winterset died Aug. 6, 2002 of complications of breast cancer at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Van Meter with Pastor Kenneth Belz officiating. Burial was at Center Point Cemetery.
Patti Davis was born May 7, 1953 in Cedar Rapids to Don and Lila (Frank) Carver. A 1971 graduate of Center Point high school, she obtained her bachelor's degree in anthropology and music from Ripon College. On Feb. 10, 1978 she married Wayne G. Davis. Patti had been a music editor and head of the gospel division at Hal Leonard Music Publishing in Milwaukee, Wis. She also had played the piano for many years at Von Maur in Valley West Mall in West Des Moines. Before moving to Winterset in 1922, she had resided in Wisconsin and Des Moines. She was a member of MENSA and Trinity Lutheran Church of Van Meter.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne of Winterset; a son, Charlie Davis of Winterset; her parents, Don and Lila Carver of Center Point; two sisters, Peg Carver (husband David) Humphrey of Samish, Wash., and Polly Carver-Kimm (husband Todd Kimm) of Urbandale; grandparents, Arnold and Leona Carver of Center Point; father-in-law, Wes Davis of Kailua, Hawaii; mother-in-law, Leontine Davis of Wheeling, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Janette Yoerg (husband Ken of Edina, Minn.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare of Winterset.
