BERT D. DALTON DIES IN CALIFORNIA

DeSoto Resident Had Been Spending Winter at Daughter's Home

Bert D. Dalton of DeSoto died suddenly on Feb. 22 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Leeds, in Hollywood, Calif., it was learned here this week.

Mr. Dalton was born at Chatam, Va., on June 28, 1885, the son of Avery and Laura Roach Dalton. When he was 7 years old he moved with his parents to Ohio. In 1905 he came with his brothers to Adel in this state. The next 30 years of his life was spent as a farmer in Dallas and Madison counties. For the past two years he had been living in DeSoto, and was spending the winter with his daughter in California when stricken.

On Dec. 23, 1907 he was married to Miss Myrtle Mullins of Van Meter. They were the parents of a son and a daughter.

He leaves his wife; a son, Earl G. Dalton of New York City; the daughter, Mrs. Leeds; seven brothers, Hayes and Gladstone Dalton of Martinsville, O., Frank Dalton of Princeton, Va., Lucian Dalton of Wilmington, O., Tilden Dalton of Dexter, Gus Dalton of Xenia, O., and Bob Dalton of Port William, O.; and two sisters, Mrs. Lusta Fisher and Mrs. Stella Fisher of Wilmington, O.

Funeral services were held Feb. 26 from the Pierce Brothers chapel in Hollywood with burial at the Forest Lawn mausoleum in Glendale.

DEATH COMES TO BERT C. DALTON

Was Visiting Daughter In California. Living In De Soto.

Bert C. Dalton, 58, of De Soto, died suddenly last Wednesday afternoon, February 23, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Leeds of Hollywood, California. His death was due to a heart attack

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 26 at Pierce Bros. Chapel in Hollywood, in charge of the Masonic Lodge. Interment was at the Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Glendale, California.

Bert C. Dalton was born at Chatam, Virginia, on June 28, 1885, the son of Avery and Laura Roach Dalton. At the age of seven he moved with his parents to Ohio. In 1905 he came with his brothers to Adel, Iowa.

On December 22, 1907, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Mullins, atVan Meter, and to them were born to children. For over thirty years Mr. and Mrs. Dalton resided on farms in Dallas and Madison counties. Two years ago, he retired from farming and they moved to the town of De Soto. They went to California in November and planned to return to their home in De Soto this month.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Earl G. Dalton of New York City, New York ; a daughter, Mrs. Peter Leeds of Hollywood, California; seven brothers, Hayes and Gladstone Dalton of Martinsville, Ohio; Frank Dalton of Princeton, Virginia; Lucian Dalton of Wilmington, Ohio; Tilden Dalton of Dexter; Custer Dalton nosy you, Ohio; and Bob Dalton of work William, Ohio; and two sisters, Mrs. Lusta Fisher and Mrs. Stella Fisher of Wilmington, Ohio.

Mrs. Bert Dalton is a sister of Gerald and Dale Mullins of Winterset. She will remain with her daughter in Hollywood for the present.
