MISS EMMA NEAL DIES

Van Meter--(Special)--March 18.

Miss Emma Neal, a resident of this vicinity all her life, died at her farm home east of Van Meter Friday morning, March 15th, after an illness with heart trouble.

Miss Neal was born on a farm south of Van Meter in Madison county, on Nov. 16, 1870.

When she was bout four years old her parents, Samuel and Mary Neal, moved to the farm east of Van Meter which has been her home ever since.

She attended the Van Meter high school and completed her training at Highland Park college, after which she was a successful teacher for about fifteen years.

Her father preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1887, and her mother passed away July 15, 1928.

She is survived by a brother, Charles of Spokane, Washington, and a sister, Mrs. Howard Davis who lived on the same farm with her, and eight nieces and nephews.

The funeral services were held at the Fisher funeral home Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. C. L. Windsor, pastor of the United Brethren church of which she was a long time member.

Burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery by the side of her parents.

The pall bearers were Fred Rehbein, Harry Swallow, Charles C. Cook, Giles Roberts, Lawrence Redfern and Albert Swallow, all of Booneville.
