Lincoln Township Resident Succumbs to Stroke of Apoplexy
Tone Myers, a highly respected citizen of Lincoln township, died at his home southwest of Winterset last Friday after a short illness. He was 53 years of age.
Mr. Myers was born near Murray, the son of John and Martha Myers, on Oct. 31, 1887. He was reared in that community, and there became a member of the Methodist church. On March 15, 1911, he was married to Clara B. Morrow. They made their home at Murray for a number of years, later moving to Clarinda.
In Clarinda he engaged in business for eight years, taking an active part in community affairs. In 1937, he moved to the farm southwest of Winterset where his death occurred.
He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Floyd Myers of Peru and Bert Myers of Murray; four sisters, Minnie Keys of Murray, Zelma Phillips of Truro, Nellie Bierma of Grant, Neb., and Kate DeBois of Centerville, S. Dak.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home here, in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
