Veteran Farmer Had Spent Most of Life in That Community
Truro--(Special)--S. W. Miller, a long-time resident of this community, died last Thursday at his home north of town. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. Miller had spent all his years as a farmer, and all but 10 years of his life were lived near Truro. He was born near here in 1872, the son of Joseph and Louisa Miller. He was married to Ida D. Swearingen on Nov. 21, 1900. They were the parents of a son and a daughter, both of whom survive their father.
In addition to his wife, he leaves the daughter, Mrs. Pauline Miller of Truro; the son, Coy Miller of Truro; and two grandchildren, Mrs. Ruby Briggs of Winterset, and Bobby Dean Miller of Truro.
Funeral services were conducted from Kale's funeral home Sunday in charge of the Rev. Clayton P. Shepard, pastor of the Christian church. Burial was made in Young's cemetery.

Was Resident Of County 58 Years. Funeral Held Sunday Afternoon
Samuel Walter Miller died at his home north of Truro Thursday of last week, at the age of 68 years. Mr. Miller lived all his life with the exception of 10 years near Truro, in Madison county and all his years were spent as a farmer.
Funeral services were conducted from the Kale funeral home in Truro at two o'clock Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Clayton P Shepard, Pastor of Truro Christian church, was in charge. Burial was made in Young's cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ida; one daughter, Pauline; one son, Coy; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ruby Briggs of Winterset, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Miller, and Bobby Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. Coy Miller; and many other relatives and friends.
Samuel Walter Miller, son of Joseph and Louisa Miller, was born in Madison county near Truro Dec. 9, 1871. He died at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 22 days. He was united in marriage to Ida D. Swearingen Nov. 21, 1900. To this union two children were born, Pauline who is Mrs. Clyde Miller of Truro and Corey Miller also of Truro. He was one of the charter members of the Truro "God's Acre" farmers of 1939.
