Vera Belle Cave, 86, died of congestive heart failure May 23, 2002 at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with Pastor Neal Hanley officiating. Burial was at Wiscotti Cemetery of rural Redfield.
Vara Cave was born April 30, 1916 to Robert and Inez (Cookman) Spring of Cainsville, Mo. She was united in marriage to Howard J. Cave on July 4, 1934. Vera had worked for many years at Diddy's Drug and Grocery Store and later at Martin's Grocery in Redfield where she had lived all of her married life. She later resided at Pioneer Place in Earlham before moving to West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Crowl (husband Clark) of Wickenburg, Ariz.; a son, Neal Cave (wife Roberta) of Clive; a brother, Robert Spring (wife Sharon) of Dallas Center; a sister, Mary Lou Davis (husband Don) of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; and six grand-grandchildren
