Wednesday, November 12, 1941Mrs. Ida May Carr Dies
Mrs. Ida May Carr, former Madison county resident, died last Tuesday at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, after a short illness. Mrs. Carr who was 72 years of age, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Deardorff who for many years lived in the Ebenezer neighborhood. Her father served two terms on the Madison county board of supervisors.
Mrs. Carr died following a short illness. She had been a Des Moines resident for more than forty years and was a member of the Friends church. For many years she had been a nurse.
She is survived by three sisters; Mrs. Will J. Beeler and Elwood Macumber, both of Winterset and Mrs. Nora Beeler of Galesburg, Ill. She also leaves a son, Orland Chadwick of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Maud Cornell and Miss Winifred Chadwick of Des Moines; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Her funeral services were held at Hamilton's funeral home last Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. and burial was made in the Masonic cemetery in Des Moines.
