Mrs. John Stalters died at her home in Patterson on Friday, January 12th, age 36 years, and the funeral services were held on Sunday at Blair Chapel, Rev. Long conducting the services.

Obituary -
Martha C. Stalter was born in Madison county, September 17, 1863, and was married to J. H. Stalter August 28, 1887; died January 12, 1900, at Patterson, Iowa, aged 36 years, 3 months, and 26 days.
She was baptized in the Christian faith at the age of 16 and joined the M. E. church on probation in 1894, and united with the United church in 1895, and died a member of the same. She took part in the family worship until the last few days of her illness; was the mother of four children and leaves a husband and one little girl 8 years old to mourn her death.
The funeral services were held in Blair Chapel church by Rev. G. O. Long, pastor. Her remains were laid to rest in the Blair Chapel cemetery, January 14.
