Doris Elaine Alexander, 78, died of a heart ailment June 27, 2002 at Winterset Care Center North.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, July 5 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. There will be no visitation before the service. Burial of the cremains will be at Winterset Cemetery.
Doris Alexander was born June 6, 1924 in Madison County to Harry and Gladys (Simpson) Wight. She was a 1941 graduate of Winterset High School. On Nov. 23, 1944 she married Curtis Alexander in Winterset. A lifetime resident of Winterset, Doris had been a beautician for several years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Curt of Winterset; two daughters, Vicky Morris (husband Frank) of Winterset and Judy McHose (husband Mark) of Owings, Mills, Md.; a brother, Bernard Wight of Winterset; two sisters, Marge Wohlwend and Norma Greenwood, both of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.

WintersetDoris Alexander, 78, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Thursday at Winterset Care Center North. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Winterset, of which she was a member. Burial of the cremains will be at Winterset Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Madison County and had lived in Winterset all her life. She was a homemaker and a retired beautician. She enjoyed fishing and bowling.
She is survived by her husband, Curt; two daughters, Vicky Morris of Winterset and Judy McHose of Owings Mills, Md.; a brother, Bernard Wight of Winterset; two sisters, Marge Wohlwend and Norma Greenwood, both of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset is handling arrangements.
