Retired Farmer Had Lived in County for Past 40 Years
John Jobson, a respected citizen of Madison county for 40 years, died at his home in Winterset Monday after a fatal illness of about a week. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Jobson was a native of Peoria, Ill., where he was born Dec. 22, 1861, the son of John and Ann Jobson. On March 9, 1884, he was married to Miss Susie Barnes. They were the parents of two sons.
In 1900 he brought his family to Madison county, settling on a farm in Lincoln township. He lived there until 8 years ago, when he retired from active farming and moved to Winterset.
He is survived by his wife; and the two sons, Harry B. Jobson and Lindsay R. Jobson, both of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from Anderson's home for funerals here, in charge of the Rev. J. R. McNichols, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
