DEATH OF DAVID GENTRY

David Gentry, pioneer resident of the Hooten community, died at his home May 4th, 1934, at the age of 75 years.

Mr. Gentry was born in Madison county on December 19th, 1857. He was the son of Joshua and Elizabeth Gentry. In 1878 he was married to Henrietta Moore, who died in 1923. They were the parents of three children.

As a young man he united with the Christian Union church. In 1929 he transferred his membership to the Earlham church of Christ. In 1926 he was united in marriage to Allie Sears. Since then they have made their home on a farm near Lorimor.

The deceased is survived by his wife, two children, Ollie Gentry of Morgan, Minnesota, and Carey Roy of Dayton, Washington, a brother Wess Gentry of Earlham and a sister, Dicy Hogue of Rush, Colorado.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead at the Ramsey-Richards Funeral home at 2:30 p. m. Sunday, May 6th. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
