DEATH OF MRS. GEARHART

Mrs. Guy Gearhart of Winterset died at the state hospital in Iowa City last Friday, April 20th where she had been taken for treatment. She was 28 years old. Her death ended an illness of several months.

Mrs. Gearhart was born Lela Blanche Terry near Macksburg on May 19th, 1905. She was the daughter of Lewis and Stella Jones Terry. The greater part of her life was spent in Madison county. She united with the early Chapel church at an early age and later took an active part in the United Presbyterian church in Winterset. In 1923 she was married to Elmer Guy Gearhart. They had two children, Correen Mariam and Lewis James.

Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Gearhart is survived by her mother, Mrs. Stella Terry, a brother, W. R. Terry of Winterset, two sisters, Mrs. Marion Davis of Lorimor and Velma Terry of Winterset and her grandmother, Mrs. Agnus (Agnes) Terry. Her father and sister, Irma Jane, preceded her in death.

The funeral service was held at the Church of Christ in Winterset on April 22nd conducted by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead and the Rev. W. C. Porter. The men of the Star Bible class were pall bearers.

Mrs. Guy Gearhart

Lela Blanche Terry, daughter of Lewis and Stella Jones Terry, was born near Macksburg, Madison county, Iowa, on May 19, 1905 and departed this life on April 20, 1934, aged 28 years, 11 months and one day. Her death occurred at the Iowa City hospital where she had been taken to be treated for thrombosis blocking intestinal arteries.

The greater part of her life was spent in Madison county. On May 22, 1923 she was married to Elmer Guy Gearhart. To this union two children were born, Correen Mariam and Lewis James. She united with Early Chapel church at an early age and later took active part in the United Presbyterian church in Winterset. She is the first death in the delightful Star Bible class circle.

During her illness of several months she suffered with great patience and always with loving thought for her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all her friends. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her early death her mother, Mrs. Stella Terry, a brother, W. R. Terry, of Winterset, two sisters: Mrs. Marion Davis of Lorimor and Miss Velma Terry of Winterset and her aged grandmother Mrs. Agnes Terry and a great number of other relatives and friends. Her father and one sister preceded her in death, Lewis Terry and Irma Jane.

The funeral service was held at the Church of Christ at Winterset Sabbath afternoon, April 22nd at 2:30 conducted by Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor, and Rev. W. C. Porter, pastor of the United Presbyterian church. The men of the Star Bible class were pallbearers.
