Death of Mrs. H. R. Young

Mrs. H. R. Young died early Wednesday morning at her home on East Washington street, after an illness of bronchial pneumonia. Mrs. Young had an attack of the flu and had recovered and had entertained her family at her home at a Christmas dinner. The latter part of the week she became ill, pneumonia developing in a short time.

Mrs. Young was 69 years of age and had made her home in this county since she was a young girl when she moved here with her parents from New York. She and her husband, the late Ham Young, made their home for many years on their farm between here and Peru. After her husband's death over seven years ago, she resided with her son, Sam Young, who lives on the home farm, for three years. Then she moved to her present location on East Washington street. Previous to her marriage she was known as Edna Osborn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jed Osborn.

Mrs. Young is survived by four children; Dr. Tom Young, of Glendale, California; Dee Young of Des Moines; Mrs. Lee Deal of Jefferson and Sam Young of Scott township.

Funeral arrangements will be made upon the arrival of the son, Sam Young, who was summoned back from California where he was visiting his brother. Mr. Young will arrive home this morning and funeral services will be held some time Friday, January 4th.

She was an indulgent and loving mother, a good neighbor and kind friend.

She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved children, one brother, Chester Osborn of Fawcett, Missouri; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren who will miss their grandmother and always hold her in loving remembrance, also many friends and neighbors who will miss her kindly smile.

Funeral services were held Friday at 11 o'clock at the Church of Christ conducted by the Rev. F. C. McCallon.
